The Struggle (of Entrepreneurs)

Entrepreneurship has never been an easy journey, albeit being an exciting one.

Quoting a message from my client, Kevin Ng, CEO of TQ Solutions Pte Ltd:

“To my fellow entrepreneur:
For us founders, it's a lonely journey and it's often difficult to discern what's our fault - we start with high hopes and ideals, and we take it all on our shoulders and crush ourselves under the burden of those very ideals, expectations, hopes. Some days, the enormous gap can be too much to bear.”

Entrepreneurship has never been an easy journey, even though it is an exciting one. It is exciting because it all begins with a passion and a belief in an idea that would change the world. Realisation is when the organisation grows to a stage that when you look back as the founder, your 'baby' is no longer a 'startup', but one that requires a lot more structures, systems, a market-focused culture, a coherent set of strategy and an influential leadership to continue the sail. It requires ORGANISATIONAL EFFECTIVESS as its foundation.

If you are facing similar challenges, don’t struggle on your own.

There are support systems out there – 1. there are entrepreneurs’ communities whom you can exchange ideas with the like-minded. 2. There are entrepreneurial leadership coaches who could be (in the words of Kevin Ng) “the mirror of truth for you too - to reflect uncomfortable truths, to reflect your forgotten good, to reflect your greater purpose in the world.” 3. There are also external expertise you can tap on to dive straight into the mud with you to get things done alongside you.

If the article by author Ben Horowitz has written extensively on the struggles of entrepreneurs resonates with you, reach out for a convo. Have a comrade and a confidante to work alongside with you.
