“My team calls me a rabbit behind me.” Says a CEO.

Paralysis by analysis of a leader, but he needed not be so.

“My team calls me a rabbit behind me.”

The very 1st statement my CEO coachee told me in our recent session.

Why a rabbit the team calls him?

“Because they think I am just digging and digging deep, spiraling down my rabbit hole but getting nowhere.
They are frustrated to answer what they deem as ‘never-ending questions’ from me.
But I really just needed more info to make sound decisions.
What’s wrong with wanting to find out more?”

Paralysis by analysis.

Like my coachee, many a times we attempt to dig deep, leaving no stone unturned.

Researching, analyzing, thinking through every possible scenario to get it right.

But here’s the thing - sometimes, you can’t stop. It’s like a constant loop of information and possibilities, and before you know it, you’re stuck.
We worked on helping him effectively channel that strength of insight into action, instead of being bogged down by endless questions (and bogging others down with his endless questions).

We worked on getting him to practise entrepreneurial leadership:

✔️ managing risks involved, making clear-headed, objective decisions swiftly beyond due diligence;

✔️ knowing when ‘enough is really enough’ to take that crucial first step, amidst incomplete data and uncertainty.

✔️ setting sound assumptions, progress, and pivot quickly when necessary, rather than being paralyzed by analysis.

This is how your path unfolds with clarity, and you consistently operate at the top of your game.
